Rajasthan Sanctuary 2002

In the fall of 2002, we braved the bedlam of India’s buses and trains before settling into six weeks of painting in Rajasthan. The ensuing experience and paintings were filled with the profound frustrations and revelations that India invariably showers on intruders. Mixing sordid street debris with lavish palace facades produced paintings exhibiting the stark contrasts that breathe and bring about India’s alluring color palette. We vow never to return while booking our next exhibition in Mumbai.
