The Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games have come and now gone. Despite the pandemic and empty venues, records were set and there was victory on and off the field of play. Athletes and organizers threw the kitchen sink into their efforts to outdo themselves once again.
As the flag is now passed to the Mayor of Paris, no one can argue that the Olympic Spirit belongs in our world today. Stretching against the odds to reach a target. Aiming high regardless of recognition. Believing in oneself despite doubt. Human beings are faced with the same challenges everyday of their lives. So I celebrate the biggest sporting event on the planet, which stands as a testament for what it takes to be fully human. As the Games transition to their next home in Paris, may all the athletes and organizers facing the daunting hill ahead; continue to aim high and take it just one day at a time. The Eiffel Tower awaits you just over 1000 days from now.
